Food Log: Double Trouble

Food for Thought.

We are what we eat.

True or False?

Moving on, let's start the ball rolling!

#6 NOX - Dine in the Dark

★ 4.5/5
The only dish we saw for the night - an appetizer served at the lounge area. Everything else was devoured in darkness. Even though this meal is probably the most expensive meal we had to date, it still beats stuffing ourselves at going to a buffet. We enjoyed the experience thoroughly due to the quality of food as well as our host - Bernard. We had fun guessing the 4 dishes each for starters, mains and desserts. One downside was the ridiculously expensive still water that costs about SGD8-10. But it is needed to cleanse our palette and this allows us to enjoy our meal fully. Overall, a great experience and would definitely visit again when we are feeling rich.

#7 Oven & Fried Chicken Singapore

★ 4/5
Bad picture because this was a last minute supper before the countdown to 2020 began (we only managed to see 30" of fireworks; Food > countdown). We will skip the seafood pancake as we've eaten way better pancakes. However, we will definitely make a comeback for their fried chicken. It was super clean and the flavours are just right. We ordered the boneless chicken (the rest were OOS) and it was surprisingly tender. Really amazing fried chicken.

#8 King of Fried Rice

★ 4.5/5
Hands down the best 蛋炒饭 (aside from DTF). We visited the branch at golden mile. We got slightly irritated when I realised that we had to use plastic cutleries (not because we are environmental advocates) to devour this amazing plate of pork cutlet and rice. However, it was soon a blessing in disguise as the pork was so tender that we had no trouble cutting it into pieces and we did not have to fear our plastic cutleries snapping in between our meal. And oh did I mention? The damage is 50% lesser compared to DTF. What are you waiting for?!

#9 ChaoTa Bar & Grill

★ 3.5/5
Contrary to the name of this Bar - "Chao Ta" (in Hokkien it means burnt or overcooked), their food is perfectly cooked and yet not overly burnt. If you enjoy barbecue food, this is the place you should visit. Despite their food being on the pricey side, they serve decent mains that make you crave for more each time you take a bite. Definitely a place to revisit!

#10 PUJIM Korean BBQ Restaurant

★ 4/5

Yes, another Korean BBQ located along Amoy Street / Tanjong Pagar but believe me, this is a gem! They serve top quality beef/pork that melts in your mouth after it's being grilled to perfection. All you have to do is sit back, relax and get fat for the night! Their seafood pancake is also amazing and can feed up to 4 adults! They also provide free flow of steamed egg with consistent quality throughout. Although it is not one of those cheap, affordable Korean BBQ buffet, this place is definitely worth it!

**Apologies for the bad photo as we were too busy being carnivores.

That's all for now!
See you in our third food log.

Until then, Happy Eating!
